Why is testing important?
Testing is important.
Some parents may choose to test their child because their state requires it, others may want to see where their child is academically compared to other children the same age. Perhaps you're preparing your child for college entrance exams such as the ACT and SAT or your child may have a learning difference that you'd like to learn more about.
Whatever your reasons for testing, Homeschool Testing Services is dedicated to helping you have a delightful testing experience. Use it as an opportunity to build your relationship with your child. Now that you know what they need to work on, you can set goals together on how you can improve their knowledge.
A key aspect to think about when the results are revealed to you is to not allow the scores to define your child. Use it as a gauge to determine where they are. Here you'll be able to see their strengths and weaknesses. You are not a bad teacher if your child scores low. There are MANY other determining factor in your child's ability than this one test.
As a homeschooler, you probably do not teach to a test. Your lessons are developed by personal interests, age, and abilities of your child. It's why you homeschool. The material on the test may not have been taught or discussed during your time teaching them. That's OK! There are many years left to teach them other ideas.
Any homeschool student may test with Homeschool Testing Services. We have been facilitating standardized testing for groups of homeschool students since 2008. In 2017, 10,500 students tested with us in 365 on-site locations, and 106 online testing events. Well-qualified and experienced Test Coordinators and Proctors contract with us to provide you a relaxed and easy testing experience.
We hope you will join us on this journey of learning to master new material with the idea of testing.
